Former MLA Neeraja killed in accident Hyderabad, April 16 (INN): Former MLA Neeraja Reddy of AP died in a road accident on Sunday while she was on her way to Kurnool from Hyderabad.
It is learnt that her car's tire burst and overturned on the national highway near Jinkalapalli in Itikyala mandal of Jogulamba Gadwal district. She was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to the Kurnool Hospital where she died while undergoing treatment. Driver Babji (25) sustained injuries.
Her husband was murdered in 1996. Neeraja Reddy contested as a Congress candidate from the Aluru constituency in 2009 and won as MLA. In 2011, she resigned from the post of MLA, alleging that work was not being done in the constituency. After that, she resigned from the Congress party and stayed away from politics. In 2019, she joined YSRCP. Despite working for the party's victory in the elections, she left the ruling party and joined the BJP due to a lack of recognition.
