Lawyer's house burgled, ornaments over Rs 12 lakh stolen Guntur, April 21 (INN): Unidentified persons broke into the residence of an advocate and managed to get away with property over Rs 12 lakh late on Wednesday night at Balajinagar in old Guntur town of the district.
According to Inspector Ramanjaneyulu, the theft was discovered when the house owner Wilson, an advocate, returned home after attending a function. His wife and children are on a vacation in Kerala and there was no one present in the house at that time.
Mr Ramanjaneyulu quoted Mr Wilson's complaint that around half a kilo of gold ornaments, 600 grams of silver, a television set, a DVD player, camera, computers and other household articles were missing.
The complaint said that Mr Wilson had noticed the lock on the main door was broken and he had found the house ransacked on his return from the function. He duly informed the police who searched the house for clues which may lead them to the burglars. A case has been registered and efforts are on to trace the culprits.
