Bodies of drowned students retrieved Kakinada, May 4 (INN): Police on Wednesday managed to retrieve the bodies of four students who had drowned in the sea off the Antarvedi beach on Tuesday, after 24 hours of intense efforts.
According to Sakhinetipalli Sub-Inspector R Govindaraju the four students of Vijayawada Loyola College had drowned when they ventured into the rough sea for a swim on Tuesday. The students were part of a group of the National Cadet Corps at a camp.
Mr Govindaraju had said that the four students have been identified as Vamshi Kumar, P Suresh, Shaik Feroze and BV Krishna Reddy. All of them are said to have been aged 19 years.
The SI said that six students had ventured into the sea, but two of them had managed to swim to safety and were being treated at the Razole Government Hospital. Coastguard boats and a Navy helicopter had been pressed into service to retrieve the bodies.
