KCR seeks 1410 Cr for Elevated Corridors Hyderabad, May 1 (INN): Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has requested Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to construct elevated corridors on Warangal, Bengaluru and Vijayawada highways, as there is a lot of traffic congestion on these routes.
The Chief Minister spoke to Gadkari on the issue on Monday afternoon over phone. He wanted the Union Minister to sanction Rs 950 Crore for the construction of 6.40 KMs of elevated corridor from Uppal to Ghatkesar on Hyderabad-Warangal highway, Rs 290 crore for the 10 Kms of elevated corridor from Aramgarh to Shamshabad Airport on Hyderabad - Mahabubnagar - Bengaluru route and Rs 170 Crore for the construction of Utility Corridor (including service roads) of 26 Kms on Hyderabad-Suryapet-Vijayawada route. Uppal to Ghatkesar route is more than 15 Kms. But our Elevated Corridor project is for 6.40 Kms. Remaining 6 lane work is done by the state government. The total proposals amount is Rs. 1410 Crore.
The Union Minister has positively responded at the request by assuring to sanction the required funds. The CM spoke to Municipal Administration Minister K Tarakarama Rao and Chief Advisor to Government Rajiv Sharma, who are in Delhi, to meet the Union Minister to submit memorandum and estimates in this regard.
