Five of family killed as car plunges in well Warangal, Dec 1 (INN): Five members of a family were killed and one survived with serious injuries when the car in which they were travelling went out of control and plunged into a roadside well at Pembarthy, Jangaon mandal in Warangal district in the wee hours of Wednesday. According to Jangaon police, head of the family, Faiyaz Qureshi was driving the car late when the mishap occurred around midnight in the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
Mr Qureshi was trying to negotiate the pathetic road when he lost control over the car and veered into a well on the side of the road. The well is about 60 feet deep, police told INN. The other members of the family who lost their lives have been identified as Mr Qureshi's wife Firdaus (40), his two daughters Deeba Fatima (12) and Alia Fatima (4) and son Abdul Rahim (18). His elder son Muddasir Rahim Qureshi was the lone survivor. The victims were residents of Hyderabad and are believed to be relatives of the Wakf Board Chairman.
The mishap took place when the family was returning to Hyderabad after attending a ceremony in Khazipet. At the time of mishap, six members were travelling in the car. The officials struggled for three hours to retrieve the bodies from the well. The police said that one body is yet to be retrieved from the well. District Superintendent of Police Shah Nawaz Qasim visited the spot.
