15 injured as bus collides with jeep at Srisailam Srisailam, Jan 9 (INN): Six Ayyappa devotees were among the 15 persons who were injured in a collision between a jeep and a private tourist bus at the main entrance to the temple in the wee hours of Sunday. According to police, the incident occurred when the bus, belonging to a private tour operator, rammed into the jeep head-on. The bus hailed from Vizianagaram.
The impact left occupants in the bus and in the jeep injured. They were rushed to the Devasthanam Hospital for treatment. The incident however led to traffic snarls as the traffic was heavy because of the day being a holiday and Sankrantri around the corner. Police had to face a tough time trying to bring normalcy back on the road. According to police, the injured who were on the bus were discharged after being given primary treatment while the jeep passengers bore the brunt of the impact. Their condition is stated to be stable.
