Four die as car crashes into pole Visakhapatnam, April 18 (INN): At least four persons were killed on the spot and one other sustained grievous injuries in a road accident that occurred at the Bypass Road near Anakapalli in Visakhapatnam district in the wee hours of Monday.
According to Anakapalli Circle Inspector J Papa Rao, the victims have been identified as G M Varma (35), G Somaraju (30), P Naga Gowri Nath (28) and K Srinu (25). The seriously injured has been identified as C Kishore Kumar (30). All the victims have been shifted to NTR Hospital in Anakapalli. The condition of injured person is stated to be critical.
Mr Papa Rao stated that the mishap took place when the ill-fated car, which was heading towards Visakhapatnam from Bhimavaram, hit an electricity pole on the side of the highway. It is believed that the car had swerved while giving way to a person on the road.
Police have sent the bodies of deceased to government Hospital for autopsy. The victims are indentified as residents of Visakhapatnam and West Godavari districts. Anakapalli police have registered a case under Section 304(A) and 338 IPC.
