Property disputes lead man to burn brother alive Eluru, May 4 (INN): Property dispute is said to have led a man to burn his elder brother alive at Nachugunta village, Ungutur mandal of West Godavari district early on Wednesday.
According to Chebrole Sub-Inspector DV Ramana, accused Sunkavalli Rajashekar (40) poured petrol and burnt his elder brother Sunkavali Balarama Krishnaprasad (46) alive after locking all the doors and windows of their residence. The barbaric attack left Krishnaprasad dead on the spot.
Mr Ramana told INN that Rajashekar and his brother used to quarrel frequently over sharing their inherited properties. Being elder, Krishnaprasad used to beat his brother when he demanded money to meet his expenses. This frequent beating also induced Rajashekar's wife to leave him and he developed hatred against his elder brother.
Early on Wednesday, Rajashekar locked the doors and windows of his portion of the house and waited for Krishnaprasad to come down from the second floor. When the victim came, Rajashekar splashed petrol on him and set him alight. He then fled the spot.
Krishnaprasad had no chance to escape and was soon engulfed in flames. He died on the spot, the police said. Police reached the spot on getting information and shifted the victim to a government hospital for autopsy. A case has been registered under Section 302 IPC and a manhunt has been launched to nab Rajashekar.
