Chiru consoles accident victims' kin Tirupati: Mr Chiranjeevi, Tirupati MLA, on Wednesday visited the families of those killed in the accident, in which a garbage lorry mowed down three persons on Tuesday, and consoled them. He assured them of providing permanent employment to one member of the family.
Meanwhile, he said, they would be given temporary jobs also. Mr Chiranjeevi also stated that he would see to it that the families would get financial help from the government.
Houses under Indiramma scheme would be constructed for the homeless, he added. He issued orders that ageing vehicles should not be used and strict action should be taken on those responsible for the gruesome incident.
Later, he went to Ruia hospital and enquired from the doctors the condition of the injured who are undergoing treatment. Briefing the media, the MLA said that he would see that justice is done to the victims' families. He assured that he would discuss the compensation with the Municipal Administration Minister.
But the families of the deceased were disappointed with Mr Chiranjeevi's assurances. They lamented that they had kept the dead bodies for two days hoping that he would console them. But, they criticised him because he repeated the same assurances given by the local officials.
Some of the people also resented Mr Chiranjeevi's late visit, as he headed straight to Nellore from Renigunta airport to participate in the inauguration of multiplex theatre instead of visiting the families of the dead.
