Eight killed in two mishaps
ANANTAPUR: Eight persons died in two separate mishaps on Sunday. The first accident occured, near Mudigubba in Anantapur on Sunday morning around 1 a.m., when a bus collided with car, that victims were in.
According to Mudigubba police, Yerriswamy (45), Ramakrishna (38), Suresh (42) and Srinivasulu (40) of Mudigubba were returning home after a marriage in Anantapur, when accident occurred.
A bus going to Hyderabad from Madanapalle, rammed into their vehicle, near Mudigubba. All four occupants of car died on the spot. Villagers, alerted by the sounds of crash rushed to the spot and informed the police.
With help of villagers, police retrieved bodies from the wreckage. The bodies have been shifted to Dharmavaram govt hospital.
Meanwhile, four persons including two little girls of same family died in another ghastly road mishap at Panatur village in Gudipala mandal, on Sunday night.
According sources here, the accident happened around 9:45 p.m., when a van coming from Vellore hit two wheeler, the family of four was travelling on.
The victims are identified as Stalin (34) of Muthukur village in Chittoor mandal, his wife Nirmala (32), their daughters, Tooty (6) and Lily (7). All four died on the spot.
The van driver, abandoning the vehicle, fled the spot. Alerted by passersby, Chittoor West CI Srikanth along with his men rushed to the spot. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
