Ugranarasimha Reddy refused to join BJP Ongole, January 8. District Congress Committee president Mukku Ugranarasimha Reddy on Wednesday said that some leaders who enjoyed power and position in the party are planning to switch over to the Telugu Desam and the BJP to protect their business interests and felt that it is not correct.
Some BJP leaders invited him into the party, he said he refused their invitation and made it clear that he would continue in the Congress.
Addressing a press meet held in Ongole city, he said that Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu has failed to keep up his election promises during his six months rule and reminded that he did not take up a single project in the district.
He said that Mr Naidu has assured that he would develop Donakonda as industrial corridor but did not take any steps to develop it.
While Rs.300 crore is required to complete the Veligonda project, the government had alloted Rs.70 crore and neglecting the project works, he said.
