Ravi Lothumalla has extensive knowledge and experience in US College Admissions process from an Indian Student perspective. He is MS in Computer Science from New York Institute of Technology, New York and M.Sc., in Organic Chemistry from Osmania University, Hyderabad.
He worked as a lecturer in Chemistry in Hyderabad. In 1998, he came to USA for higher studies. He worked in the Software Dept. of New York City Department of Buses, New York City's Subways, International Recruiting division of a New Jersey based company Jean Martin, iMatrix Technologies, AZI Systems, AT&T in Vienna, Virginia, SBC Communications, Inc., New York Canon in New york, Educational Testing Services (ETS) in New Jersey, 1-800-Flowers in New York, Liberty Mutual Insurance in New Hampshire, General Motors Acceptance Insurance (GMAC) in St. Louis, Capital One in Richmond, Virginia and is currently working with Fannie Mae in Virginia,
State Farm Insurance in
Bloomington, Illinois, Morgan Stanley in New York City and currently
with Principal Financial Group in Des Moines, Iowa.
Ravi regularly attends international seminars and conferences on International Education. Some of the notable seminars that he attended are NAFSA, NAGAP, World MBA Forum, Region X conference and Institute of International Education conducted by UN apart from various College fairs, Graduate Fairs, Seminars on Resume Writing, etc.
He has guided several students to pursue higher studies in USA, helped them getting admissions in US Universities and student Visas. He is happy to answer any questions about students educational plans in USA. He will assist the students to get an edge on the interview much before one attends the US Embassy for a STUDENT VISA. However, he cannot help with the immigration & will NOT be a source to get visa to the students. He will only provide guidance and give advice
He still remembers that he has landed at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport on a Student Visa with a mere $100. He says - getting admitted and pursuing studies in US Universities is really easy for a committed and hardworking student, if they follow the right steps from the beginning.
Mr.Ravi has several extra curricular activities including Cartooning and Story Writing. His story 'Living with a Broken Heart' appeared in 'Deccan Chronicle'. His cartoons and jokes were published in all popular Telugu Daily, Weekly and Monthly magazines. He has participated in several All India Radio programs, Quizzes and Interviews.
Ravi lives in Flushing, NY along with his wife Madhavi and little daughter Sahana.
