50K bribe to clear Sikindar movie Recently released Suriya-Samantha starrer Sikindar failed at the box office badly. Adding insult to the injury, the film hit the headlines for wrong reasons again. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recently arrested Censor Board chief Rakesh Kumar for allegedly demanding Rs.70,000 from an agent to clear a regional film.
But shockingly CBI has now revealed that Suriya's latest film Sikinder took the wrong route to get the clearance certificate from censor board. Rakesh Kumar was questioned by the CBI over and the investigators found enough evidence to suggest he had demanded the money to clear Sikandar.
The CBI informed the court that as per its information Kumar had taken a laptop and an iPad to grant the censor certificate to the Tamil movie Anjaan and another Rs 50,000 in cash to issue the certificate for the Telugu version of the same movie Sikandar.
CBI reportedly seized about 2kgs of gold and other properties worth crores at Rakesh Kumar's residence. CBI also found diamonds worth Rs 65 lakh from Rakesh Kumar's wife locker in Vadodara. The Central Bureau of Investigation has sought a list of all the films which were in pipeline to see whether makers have paid the money to investigate the scandal further.
