Aagadu fails to impress Mahesh Babu's latest release Aagadu that has hit the screens on Friday (September 19), failed to ring in at the cash registers. The film witnessed heavy drops on the first day itself in some parts of Rayalaseema and Andhra Pradesh.
However, the film somehow managed to garner good craze in Telangana region ' thanks to the pre-release publicity. Trade analysts blame the debacle on too many elements and the storyline which has striking similarities with the likes of Gabbar Singh, Dookudu and Baadshah.
'The film had a lot of promise before the release. However, it failed to make any impact because of the clich'd plot. Moreover, the film has a tired and tested story and is a rehash of several successful films in this genre.
The audience, especially Mahesh fans were not satisfied with the way director Vaitla handled the film and made to do things that are believed to be liked by the fans,' says an analyst. Although Mahesh has come up with an outstanding performance, the film fails to sustain the sky-high expectations.
