The Andhra Pradesh Chapter of The Indian National Overseas Congress(INOC-Andhra Pradesh Chapter) was officially launched in New York, USA on April 15, 2006, and Dr. Gaddam Dasaratharam Reddy, a prominent pediatrician and a veteran community leader, was announced as the President of the AP Chapter. Dr. Malhotra, President of the US based prestigious overseas wing of the ruling Congress Party of India, has launched the AP Chapter of INOC, and designated Dr. Gaddam Dasaratharam Reddy, as the President of the AP Chapter and appointed two others, a prominent Surgeon and philanthropist, Dr. Nageswara Rao (Neil) Mandava, and a successful financial executive and renowned cultural personality, Mr. Mahesh Saladi, as the founding members.
Earlier, Sri K. Kesava Rao, President of AP Congress Committee and honorable Member of Rajyasabha, during his brief visit to New York, has blessed the formation of AP Chapter of INOC and congratulated the founding members. Honorable MP Sri Madhu Yaskhi Goud also attended the event that evening. The launching event on April 15, 2006, was attended by several hundreds
of prominent Telugu speaking Indians, in addition to the key
representatives and prominent delegates and members of INOC.
Dr. Surinder Malhotra, presided over the event and honorable Member of Parliament and the sole NRI Representative in the Indian Parliament, Mr. Madhu Goud Yaskhi was invited as the Chief Guest. While congratulating Dr. Reddy and the other founding members, Mr. Yaskhi stated that Indo-American relations are at the all time high and affirmed that the contributions and hard work of the NRI representatives is a major catalyst for the progress in Indo-American relations.
Dr. Malhotra, accompanied by Mr. George Abraham, Secretary and other Executive Members of INOC, compared the founding member trio as 'Brahma-Vishnu-Mahesh', and during his speech, further stated that India has become a global power and it has to remain secular, in order to gain recognition as such. He reiterated that the Indo-American Civil Nuclear treaty approval by the US Congress is absolutely necessary to meet the environmentally safe energy needs of growing India.
