4. INFLAMED SINUSES
• Pain that usually begins during or after a bad cold, particularly if there is postnasal drip.
• Pain that is localized to one specific area of the face or head, and comes on very quickly.
• Pain that is worst in the morning before the mucus has had an opportunity to drain.
• Pain that is made worse by coughing, sneezing, or sudden movements of the head.
• Pain that is aggravated by alcohol, sudden temperature changes, and during cold
seasons, going from a warm room out into the cold.
• A history of hay fever and allergies.
5. TEMPORAL ARTERITIS
• Pain that occurs mostly in people over age 50.
• Pain that may be associated with jaw pain / ache, a tender scalp and temples.

OTHER COMMON CAUSES OF HEADACHE

✹ Too little or too much sleep.
✹ Foods such as aspartame, bananas, alcoholic beverages, coffee, tea, cured meats,
monosodium glutamate.
✹ Post-traumatic / head injury
✹ Head or neck infection.
✹ Exposure to chemicals and pollutions.

✹ Side effects from certain medications such as indomethacin, nitrates, and vasodilators
✹ Hormonal changes such as Premenstrual syndrome (PMS)

✹ Withdrawal from street drugs
✹ Alcoholic binge
