VCs conference begins at OU Hyderabad, April 27 (INN): Two day Vice Chancellors' conference was kicked off by Union Minister of State for HRD Mahendra Nath Pandey here on Thursday.
Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) Chairman T. Papi Reddy requested the minister to bear the funds of Osmania University as the Punjab University where 50 percent is covered by MHRD. Nalanda University had 10,000 students with 2k teachers. We need to have more universities for a better nation and congratulated the university on centenary celebrations, he said.
The Union Minister started his speech thanked all the teaching and non teaching staff of the University for being there all through the time. He extended his greetings on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar. Quoting the President's address, the minister stressed on having more universities. Any University completing 100 university is rare feat, he said.
