Gandhi Peace walk on Oct 2nd in Texas Mahatma Gandhi Memorial of North Texas will witness "Gandhi Peace walk" on October 2nd, marking the celebration of 147th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Dr. Prasad Thotakura, Chairman of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial of North Texas(MGMNT), in a press release announced that the walk will start at 8 AM at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Plaza, 1201 Hidden Ridge Drive, Irving,(Dallas), TX.
"This Peace Walk is led by Indian Association of North Texas (IANT). We will be distributing 'Complimentary 'T' shirts & Customized Caps' on a first come first serve basis. Complimentary breakfast will be provided by FunAsiA. A few White Doves will be released in Symbol of promoting the Peace and we suggest all to come in white for this peace walk. Free parking is available in North Lake College. Complimentary shuttle bus to and from the memorial is available. All are invited to attend on time", he said.
MGMNT will also be hosting the '3 rd Annual Gandhi Banquet' from 5 to 9 PM on the same day (October 2) at Park Plaza Tower, 13111 N. Central Expressway, Dallas, TX. "We have conducted Essay Writing competitions for Junior and Senior levels on the topic 'Relevance of Mahatma Gandhi's Non-violence in today's world' and winners will be recognized at this banquet" Dr.Prasad added. Great Granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi, Archana Gandhi Prasad will be attending as the Chief Guest at both events.
