Naxal arms dump unearthed, ammunition seized Srikakulam, Jan 4 (INN): Police on Tuesday uncovered an arms dump, believed to have been belonging to naxalites in Srikakulam district and recovered a large stash of arms. According to Srikakulam DSP Sanjay Kumar Jain, the dump was uncovered from the forest in Mailapadu mandal of the district after a tip-off.
Mr Jain said that the search operations were launched on Tuesday morning after informers told the police about the presence of the ammunition. The DSP added that 40 grenades, eight landmines, apart from material used to make bombs, including explosives and fuse wires were discovered in the arms dump. He however said that there have been no arrests.
