Six of family die in road mishap Srikakulam, Jan 18 (INN): Six members of a family were killed on the spot when the car in which they were travelling hit a road divider and overturned before being hit by a speeding lorry on the National Highway at Budumuru in Laveru mandal in Srikakulam district in the early hours of Tuesday.
According to Laveru Sub Inspector S Satyanarayana, the mishap took place when the family was heading towards Visakhapatnam after attending a marriage function in Gajapathi district in the neighbouring Orissa state.
The victims have been identified as A Ravi (36) his wife A Jyothi (25), their children Manasa (6) and Sujana(4). The other two victims were identified as G Venkatesh (26) and A Padma (22). Padma is the daughter of Jogarao and had got engaged recently to be married to Venkatesh.
All the victims hailed from Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam district. The police shifted the bodies to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Srikakulam for postmortem. Mr Satyanarayana said that a case has been registered a case.
