Padmavati Devi takes ride on Surya Prabha Vaahanam Tiruchanoor: Goddess Padmavathi Devi in the guise of Panduranga Swamy took celestial ride on the glittering Surya Prabha vahanam on the seventh day of the ongoing annual karthika brahmotsavams at Tiruchanoor on Tuesday.
On the bright sunny day, the Goddess charmed as Panduranga Swamy with some marbles tied to one side of the vehicle and conch on other side.
Among all the vehicle processions, Surya Prabha vahanam has got a unique place as the sun-god controls the affairs of the entire universe and he represents the three Vedas. He is also called Surya-Narayana.
Puranas describe the chariot of Sun god in this way with the carriage size is estimated to be 3,600,000 yojanas [28,800,000 miles] long and width ranging about 900,000 yojanas, or 7,200,000 miles. The sun-god traverses a distance of 95,100,000 yojanas [760,800,000 miles] at the speed of 2,000 yojanas and two krosas [16,004 miles] in a moment. Goddess Padmavathi Devi in all her splendour took a pride ride on the Sun vehicle decorated with bright red Vrukshi flowers and blessed the devotees.
TTD EO MG Gopal, Specified Authority Chairman JC Sharma, JEO Tirupati P Bhaskar, ACVSO Sivakumar Reddy and huge number of devotees were also present during this religious fete.
