TANA excellence award to Dr. M.S.Reddy Detroit (July 18, 2015): Telugu Association of North America (TANA) has honored Dr. Malireddy Srinivasulu Reddy with the prestigious TANA Award of Excellence for his exceptional contributions to the Scientific Business Entrepreneurship. The award was presented by TANA president Mohan Nannapaneni and Chief Guest C.H.Ayyannapatrudu, AP Minister of Panchayat Raj & Rural Water Supply, at the 2015 TANA Convention in Detroit, USA. Several thousand people attended the biannual meeting of TANA, which is the oldest parent Telugu organization in North America established in 1977.
Dr. M.S. Reddy, popularly known as the 'Billionaire Scientist', 'Cheese Reddy', and 'Cheese King', has published over 80 scientific papers on lactic cultures and Probiotics, and hold over 150 US and International patents. He is widely recognized as an outstanding scientist and leading authority in lactic cultures & Probiotics.
Dr. M.S. Reddy is a well-known philanthropist and is a major donor of Hindu temple of Denver and the Indian-American Friendship Council in Washington DC for improving the India'US relationship. He also supports various schools and community activities in several rural US communities. In addition, he has spent $12 million on R&D to upgrade the Indian Ayurveda System using Probiotics (Proyurveda) to cure chronic diseases without side effects.
Dr. Reddy serves as the Chairman and President of the American Dairy and Food Consulting laboratories (ADFAC) and International Media And Cultures (IMAC), Inc., head quartered at Denver, Colorado, USA with various manufacturing divisions in 10 States.
Dr. M.S. Reddy was born in 1947 in Uppalapadu, Kovur Taluk, Nellore district to Malireddy Jala Reddy (a vivid promoter of education) and Sankaramma. He is married to Syama Reddy and they have two children, daughter Deepa and son Sridhar.
Dr. Reddy has received over 140 honors and awards from all over the world for his scientific achievements and for his contributions to the humanity, including Richard Hoyt award, Outstanding Young Alumnus award, Sigma‐Xi Research award, Outstanding Scientist award from IAFC, Outstanding Businessman award, prestigious U.S. President Ronald Reagan Gold Medal award, and Lifetime Achievement Award from NATA & ATA for his outstanding contributions to business and technology.
In 2012, Dr. Reddy received the prestigious presidential award from the president of India Hon'ble Pranab Mukherji for being selected as one of the 12 most influential Telugus in the world, bringing immense recognition to the State of Andhra Pradesh and India at world level.
He has been nominated three times for the Nobel Peace Prize for lifetime achievements in food and pollution mitigating technology.
