Ragging drives another student to suicide Warangal, Sept 1 (INN): A first year B. Tech student committed suicide allegedly due to ragging by his seniors.
The victim, Swaminath, was found dead on the railway tracks in Vadapally near Qazipet Railway Station on Tuesday. He is suspected to have committed suicide by jumping in front of a running train.
Swaminath, a first year student studying in CMR college, hails from Ramakrishtapuram of Adilabad district. Police reportedly recovered a suicide note from his purse in which he stated that he had taken this extreme step due to torture by his seniors.
"Please stop ragging...If the seniors hadn't done like that, I wouldn't be committing suicide", he reportedly stated in his suicide node. The body was later shifted to MGM Hospital mortuary for post-mortem. Police have registered a case and began investigations.
