Botsa refuses to predict by-polls outcome Visakhapatnam: The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president and Minister for Transport, Botsa Satyanarayana, said on Sunday that they were not astrologers to predict the poll results in advance, but hastened to add that the rank and file in the party was collectively trying to win all 18 seats in the ensuing by-polls.
He was here at the airport en route Vizianagaram on Sunday to receive Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy who was going to Narasannapet in Srikakulam district as part of by-election campaign.
When Mr Satyanarayana was grilled by media persons at the airport, he said he was here to receive the Chief Minister and said it was a good omen that many Telugu Desam Party leaders, including Jogi Reddy, Govinda Reddy and their team from Payakaraopet, joined the Congress to strengthen the hands of AICC president Sonia Gandhi.
When his attention was drawn to the remark made by Minister Dr DL Ravindra Reddy, he shot back saying that important political party leaders also work as 'coverts' on similar lines of print and media.
'You people also enquire what items were being highlighted in other newspapers or channels which could be termed as 'coverts',' he added.
When asked about any other important leaders of other parties joining the Congress, he said: 'Today you saw leaders from TDP joining the Congress and this will be a continuous process.'
