Kiran visited Delhi 76 times HYDERABAD: The BJP will hold demonstrations in all the mandals of the state on June 1 to highlight the problems arising from the drought situation prevailing in the state.
Addressing a press conference here, state BJP president G Kishan Reddy accused chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of neglecting the state's administration and concentrating more on saving his position. The chief minister was seen more in Delhi than in the state, he remarked.
'Since he has become chief minister Kiran has travelled 76 times to Delhi and may be aptly called Delhi Kumar Reddy. Instead of flying to Delhi frequently, he could be asked to stay in Delhi and a new chief minister appointed to take care of the administration in the state.
The chief minister should make it clear whether he wants to serve his political bosses or the people of the state,' Kishan Reddy said.
'The state is reeling under severe drought but the state administration is not responding to the situation. Besides, the government has not conducted elections to local bodies and people have to depend on officials for relief.''
Though almost all the mandals were reeling under drought, the government declared only 234 as drought-affected, he said. There was shortage of drinking water in almost all the mandals but the local administration was not taking measures to supply drinking water to people, he alleged and demanded that the government hold an all-party meeting to discuss the drought situation.
The BJP will hold district-level meetings for three days from the 18th to 20th of every month and mandal-level meeting from the 25th to 27th till the elections.
A two-day brainstorming would be conducted towards the end of June or in the beginning of July, Kishan Reddy said.
