Congress will bite dust in the state: Shankar Rao Hyderabad, May 23 (INN): Continuing the spree of making controversial statements, former minister Dr P Shanker Rao predicted that the Congress party would not win more than 20 seats in the next elections.
Talking to reporters in the Assembly premises, Dr Shankar Rao alleged that the condition of Congress party in the State was worse than the situation BJP had faced in Karnataka before recently-concluded elections.
He said that was no coordination between Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and his deputy Damodar Rajanarasimha. Similarly, the coordination was also missing between PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana, other ministers, MPs and MLAs. He said if the same situation continues, then the Congress party would be lucky to win 20 seats.
Further, Dr Shankar Rao said that YSR Congress party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy's popularity was on the rise, especially due to the criticism he has been facing from other political parties. He also said that the TDP was in a much better position than the Congress party.
However, he said that the situation could be reversed if the Congress party recognises genuine party workers and concentrate on strengthening the organisation.
