Father tries to break daughters marriage
Srikakulam: They fell in love and tied the nuptial knot, but the girl's father has become a thorn in the flesh, as he opposed his daughter's love marriage.
According to the police, Santosh and Harika, who have been dating for the past few years, entered into wedlock on June 4. But Harika's father, who was not happy with the marriage, lodged a complaint with the police alleging that his daughter was kidnapped and stated that she was a minor. Hence, the police began an inquiry into the case.
But on learning about the case, Santosh and Harika approached the Srikakulam DSP and explained that she was not a minor and nobody kidnapped her, but they got married as she liked Santosh. She further stated that nobody exerted pressure on her.
Notably, Santosh's mother Jayasri also lodged a complaint with the police alleging that Harika's father had threatened them with dire consequences and sent hooligans to their house.
Therefore, she requested the police to provide protection to them. Similarly, the newly wedded couple too sought police protection.
