All eyes on State Cabinet rejig HYDERABAD: Following the Union Cabinet rejig, state Congress leaders are busy speculating about the timing of the state Cabinet reshuffle.
Several aspirants, who have been expecting a berth in the Cabinet, were seen discussing, in the lobbies of the Assembly, about the overhaul of the state Cabinet, following the resignation of P Sabitha Indra Reddy and Dharmana Prasada Rao, and sacking of DL Ravindra Reddy .
Congress leaders feel that chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy might restructure his Cabinet soon after the ongoing budget session of the Assembly.
'Kiran Reddy is likely to visit Delhi next week to meet the AICC top brass. AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi's aide and party general secretary Madhusudan Devram Mistry, during his visit to Hyderabad, summoned Kiran and PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana to Delhi.
Probably, during that visit Kiran might get the nod of the high command for the Cabinet reshuffle,' a senior Congress leader said. Meanwhile, aspirants for ministerial posts have intensified their efforts to persuade Kiran Reddy to consider their names.
Several wannabe ministers like government chief whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy and whip T Jayaprakash Reddy have been of late knocking on the door of the chief minister at his camp office here.
Veteran Congress leaders like JC Diwakar Reddy and Gade Venkata Reddy, who are expecting a berth in the Cabinet, have also been trying to influence Kiran Reddy in their favour.
