Air Costa to launch airline services in July Hyderabad: Air Costa, the first-ever domestic airlines based out of Andhra Pradesh, is gearing up to commence its operations in a month in July.
The no-frills airlines promoted by Vijayawada-based LEPL Group will initially operate to Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Vijayawada, besides secondary cities in North and North Western parts of the country.
The airlines which will have its maintenance base and head quarters in Vijayawada has already acquired three aircraft ' two taken on lease and one purchased by the company.
Air Costa said in a statement that these aircraft had landed in the Vijayawada and the company was in the process of obtaining final ap provals from the aviation regulator DGCA. However, investments details of the venture were not announced.
'Air Costa has chosen the state-of-the-art Embraer EJets for their efficiency and reliability. Our plan is to link underserved markets in India with more direct flights. Air Costa plans to operate flights to six stations initially,' said Capt. K N Babu, CEO, Air Costa.
Ramesh Lingamaneni, Chairman and Managing Director, Air Costa, maintained that there was lot of potential for regional air services in the country, especially in South India.
'We are committed to further growth in the Indian market by undertaking additions to our fleet and launchings new routes over medium term,' he added.
