23-yr-old hangs self in train toilet
NELLORE: An unidentified 23-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself in a toilet of the Chennai-bound Jammu Tawi Express on Tuesday.
Though the body was noticed by a person when train made a halt at Nellore railway station, the police took possession of the body only at Chennai.
According to the sources, a person, who had come to see off his relative at Nellore railway station, noticed the body hanging in a general compartment toilet and alerted the police at the railway station itself.
But, the train already left the station by the time the cops swung into action. They passed on the information to the officials of Gudur Railway Station. But, the episode repeated again at Gudur railway station too where the train halted for only two minutes.
Though Gudur railway police alerted their counterparts at Sullurpet, the next destination of the train, the latter decided not to take possession of the body as it would take them nearly two hours for completing the formalities. Finally, the railway police took the possession of the body at Chennai.
