KCR to inaugurate Fathe Nagar-Balkampet link road Hyderabad, July 26 (INN): GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar has informed that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will inaugurate the Fathe Nagar bridge and Balkampet link road soon.
The Commissioner along with Fathe Nagar Corporator Muddapuram Krishna Goud, Engineer-in-Chief R Dhan Singh has come for a final inspection of the works and expressed satisfaction over the completion of works. The works on 1.41 km 4-lane road were carried out with Rs 45 crores.
He said that the works on the link-road were originally started in October 2007. However, following stiff resistance from property owners in acquisition of properties, delay in shifting of utilities like electrical towers, High tension lines & Low tension lines, water supply and sewerage lines have delayed the project. He said that the project was taken up as a challenge and completed in the last three-four months.
The new road will reduce the travel distance by 2 km from Kukatpally, Balanagar, Fathenagar and Balkampet towards Secunderabad. It will be beneficial for the public of Brahmanvadi, Begumpet, Nature Cure MMTS station, Indira Gandhi Puram and Renuka Nagar and provides connectivity to Balkampet, Brindavan Colony and Fathenagar.
It will also reduce traffic congestion on NH-9 from Ameerpet to Sanathnagar/ Kukatpally and section of SP Road from Rajiv circle and Greenland flyover.
