No Survey in 7 Khammam mandals merged with AP KHAMMAM: The district administration is all set for the conduct of the Integrated Household Survey (IHS) across the district, except the seven mandals which have been transferred to the Residuary Andhra Pradesh state, on Tuesday, according to District Collector Dr K Illambarthi.
Stating this, he added that the survey would cover about 8.76 lakh families / households in the district. He explained that as many as 29,199 enumerators would be deployed for the survey in the district and that as many as 778 supervisors and 238 zonal officers had been appointed to monitor the survey.
Adequate number of vehicles had been provided for the transportation of the enumerators. He said that the survey would be conducted from 8am to 8pm and added that each enumerator would cover about 30 families/ households in the 12-hour period.
Urging the people to remain at their house on Tuesday and cooperate with the enumerators, he added the IHS would be useful in future to get benefits from the government.
Meanwhile, the IHS enumerators went from door to door in the district on Monday to check the notional numbers (allotted to the households to facilitate easy survey) with the existing house numbers.
The non-allotment of such notional numbers to several individual houses and apartments in several places in Karimnagar town (where 77,678 families are residing) reportedly created confusion among the enumerators.
Karimnagar Mayor, S Ravinder Singh went to some houses and marked the notional numbers where the corporation staff had not done so. Meanwhile, Karimnagar Municipal Corporation Commissioner Srikesh Latkar held a meeting with corporation staff at Kalabarati Auditorium on Monday and discussed the modalities of the Intensive Household Survey with them.
In a related development, the bus station was choc-a-bloc with people coming from other places to the town or transiting through or going to their native places.
