TDP to leave Medak to BJP HYDERABAD: In their bid to together take on the ruling TRS in Telangana, BJP and TDP are learnt to have decided to continue their ongoing 'electoral alliance' even in the ensuing bypoll for Medak Lok Sabha seat as well as elections to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
According to sources, this was decided by the BJP national president Amit Shah and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. During the breakfast meeting, both the leaders were understood to have discussed the present political situation in AP and Telangana.
It is learnt that Shah and Naidu came to an understanding over fielding a mutually acceptable candidate for Medak Lok Sabha bypoll, scheduled to be held on September 13, against the pink party's nominee.
They reportedly took a decision to continue their 'friendship' even in the ensuing GHMC polls, slated for November/December. 'As the TRS and MIM were moving closer to contest the GHMC polls, TDP and BJP also want to take on them by joining hands in the GHMC polls,' said a TDP leader.
Apart from Telangana TDP boss L Ramana and party senior E Dayakar Rao, Telangana state BJP president G Kishan Reddy also took part in the meeting. Telangana TDP leader Dayakar Rao said the TDP would join hands with the BJP in the Medak Lok Sabha bypoll.
