KCR reviews preparations for Metro Polis conference Hyderabad, Sept 2 (INN): Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has issued instructions that the forthcoming International Metro Cities Representatives Conference to be held at Hyderabad should be made successful. He said that no inconvenience of what so ever it may be, to be caused to the delegates.
The Chief Minister on Tuesday reviewed the arrangements to be made for the conference to be held from 7th October to 10th October in Hyderabad. The conference will be attended by Mayors from Country and abroad, Commissioners, Town Planning Officers and experts in the Municipal Administration.
Meanwhile, Alian Lesaux, Secretary General, Metro Polis, Agnes Bickart, Manager Metropolis called on the Chief Minister and congratulated him for taking initiate to organise the International Mayors Conference in October. They thanked the Chief Minister for taking special care to make the Conference successful.
The officers who attended the meeting informed KCR that around 2000 delegates from 60 countries would attend the conference. They told him that already 566 delegates from 43 countries have registered their names. They also informed that all arrangements are being made to the participants attending the conference.
The Conference will be a sort of joint learning among delegates from different countries. Experts in Municipal Administration and Governance will address the delegates. They would discuss the issues arising out of urbanisation and methods to overcome them.
Advisor to the Government BV Paparao, GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, Municipal Administration Secretary SK Joshi, GHMC Special Commissioner Babu Ahmed and CMO Principal Secretary S Narsingh Rao also attended the meeting.
