'Mud Run' draws hundreds of youth to fun Hyderabad : The 'Hyderabad mud-run' received an enthusiastic response, with more than 700 participants enjoying a fun-filled event on Sunday that saw them overcome over two dozen obstacles like tire field, mud swim, under-wire crawl, cargo net climbs, slippery slides and much more. The crowds faced challenges that combined mud, water, trail running, obstacles and adventure for the perfect recipe of thrill.
The mud-run, which is being conducted for the third time in the city, involved a two km crazy run with 25 challenges. The venue was at a private resort in Patancheru.
Among the participants were people from all walks of life, including fitness freaks, techies and IT company employees. Some people were able to complete the track in 30 minutes, while novices required over an hour to do the same.
Some of the obstacles placed were a tire field, mud swim, under wire crawl, skirmish crawl, cargo net climbs, slippery slides, water-pits, tunnels and Burma Bridge.
Participants said that the mud-run was a very interesting experience that combined recreation and excitement. The participants included groups of employees from different IT companies, who said that they had a great time bonding with each other.
The event was open for everyone above eight years of age, with no upper age limit, as long as they had reasonable fitness levels. Children below the age of 13 required the company of a parent or guardian.
Founder of Great Hyderabad Adventure Club (GHAC), which organized the event, Diyanat Ali said that the mud-run was intended to give a different and awesome experience to the participants.
'Many people look for such events in Hyderabad to break the monotony of their daily life. Mud run is one of the events that are sweeping the city, with participants of all skill levels eager to try them out,' he said.
