RB Chowdary paid 30 Cr for I Telugu rights Spending around Rs 30 crore for a star -hero movie in Tollywood is the norm nowadays. But what if you were to shell out the same amount for a dubbed movie?
That is precisely the amount NV Prasad and RB Choudhary, are rumored to have paid to acquire the Telugu rights to director Shankar's upcoming movie, I. Recently, Tollywood producer Lagadapati Sridhar paid a fancy price for the Telugu version of Suriya starrer, Sikander.
However, the movie failed badly. But industry sources say that Prasad and Choudhary have made a calculated risk. Shankar is known to showcase something different in his movies every time and the majority of his films have created box-office history.
Going by the theatrical trailer of I, it appears as if Shankar has another winner on his hands. The audio launch of the Telugu version has been slated for October 2.
