Nurse, her friend blackmail doctor with 'sleaze CDs' ELURU: The police arrested two young women for trying to extort Rs 15 lakh from a city-based doctor in the guise of TV channel reporters and also seized two cell phones from them here. The arrested were identified as 20-year-old Mahita Soujanya Rani of Israelpet and 21-year-old Nabeena Begum of BD Colony in the city, both friends.
II Town circle inspector Satya Kishore said that the victim, Dr. Mohan Kumar was living in RR Pet and Mahita Soujanya Rani was working as a nurse in his hospital for some time now.
Both Mahita and Nabeena hatched a plot to extract money from the doctor by blackmailing him. As part of it, they bought two China-made cell phones 15 days ago and telephoned him by transforming their voice into male's using voice changing software.
Introducing themselves as TV channel reporters, the women blackmailed the doctor that they had sleaze CDs of him in a compromising position and demanded Rs 15 lakh for not making the CDs public.
When the accused started pressurising him, Mohan Kumar approached the police and filed a complaint. The cops launched an investigation and nabbed the women at their residences. They also seized two cell phones from them.
