Naga Chaitanya in Tamil remake Looks like Tollywood actors are smitten by the remake bug! After the likes of Pawan Kalyan, Venkatesh, Manchu Vishnu and Manoj, it seems to be the turn of Naga Chaitanya has now to enthral the audience with yet another remake.
Chaitanya is stepping into the shoes of Vikram Prabhu in the Telugu remake of Tamil film Sigaram Thodu. Directed by Gaurav Narayanan, Sigaram Thodu is the story of a father who wishes to see his son as an exemplary cop.
The Tamil film, released on September 12, 2014, has become a titanic hit and established Vikram Prabhu as one of the promising stars of Kollywood. Impressed with the story, sources say Naga Chaitanya has expressed his desire to act in this remake.
Nagarjuna is bandied about as having acquired the remake rights of the film and is expected to produce it on Annapurna Studios banner. Gaurav, who directed the original, is likely to wield the megaphone for this Telugu remake.
Incidentally, Sigaram Thodu is the second remake in Chaitanya's career after Thadaka, a remake of Vettai. An official confirmation is awaited.
