AP to operationalise major irrigation projects Hyderabad, Nov 26 (INN): The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to bring to operation of major focused irrigation projects in the State. In a review meeting with the Principal Secretary of Irrigation Department on Wednesday, Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao directed him to ensure the right canal of Polvaram is completed before the next agricultural season.
He has been asked to complete the structure and sorting out the court cases so that by next season, the lift water can be transferred from basin to basin. Similarly, the full designed capacities of Telugu Ganga, Nippulavagu and SRBC should be achieved by the next season. In Velugonda Project, at least one tunnel should be made ready as early as possible to carry to the project.
The Phase-I of HNSS should be completed and Thotapalli Reservoir also should be made operational by next season, the Chief Secretary told officials.
