Telangana inherited debts after bifurcation: KCR Hyderabad, Nov 28 (INN): Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Friday stated that the Telangana State inherited huge debts from the first day of its formation.
Speaking on the Appropriation Bill 2014-15 in the State Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister said that the Telangana State had a surplus budget of Rs 2,544.78 crore. However, it inherited nearly Rs 1500 crore dues towards fee reimbursement.
He said that the government had so far cleared Rs 500 crore towards fee reimbursement dues and would clear the remaining amount soon. Similarly, the government owed nearly Rs 700 crore dues to the road contractors. Citing non-clearance of old dues, the contractors were not willing to take up new projects initiated by the Telangana Government.
KCR informed that the House that the State Government had earned Rs 25,947 crore since the formation of new State. Reiterating that his government would fulfill all the promises that it made with the people, he said revenues were being mobilised from all sources without burdening any sector.
He condemned the delay in division of employees and allotment of cadre and said the shortage of staff has badly hit the function of the government of new State.
The Chief Minister announced the regularisation of houses situated on 50-75 square yards of land. He listed out the schemes being implemented by the government. He promised that he would not seek votes from the people if he fails to provide tapped water to each and every household in the State in next four years.
He also assured that entire State would get 24x7 power supply after three years. He said that health services were being improved across the State and 927 new vehicles are being added to Ambulance 104 & 108 fleet.
