TDP describes Jagan's 'Deekha' as political stunt HYDERABAD:Taking strong exception to the way YSRC chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is undertaking the two-day 'Raithu Deeksha' against the TDP government's failure to fulfil poll promises, Andhra Pradesh ministers while describing the deeksha as 'political stunt' alleged that 'as Jagan was losing control over his party and support of the people', he was resorting to such propaganda against the TDP government.
Speaking to reporters, AP irrigation minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, agriculture minister P Pulla Rao and mines minister Peetala Sujatha alleged that since leaders were leaving the YSRC at regular intervals, Jagan, in order to save his party, was 'resorting to gimmicks'.
'Jagan has no moral right to fight for the rights of the farmers as his father late YS Rajasekhara Reddy and he had cheated them by taking away their lands for SEZs and other projects,' alleged Pulla Rao. Pulla Rao said the YSRC chief had not included crop loan waiver in his party's poll manifesto during the general polls, which itself showed that he was not concerned about them.
YSRC had not won a single seat in West Godavari district in the polls. Still, he chose the venue in that district that itself showed that his intention was not to fight for the rights of the farmers but to strengthen his party's base in the district, he alleged.
He said if Jagan was really concerned about the plight of the farmers, he should first hand over the land he had acquired to set up cement plant in Guntur district to farmers.
