Software exports from Hyd to touch Rs 64,000 Cr Hyderabad, Feb 13 (INN): The Software exports from Hyderabad are likely to touch Rs 64,000 crore in the current financial year 2014-15.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of an event, Telangana ITEC Secretary Harpreet Singh informed that the software exports have continued their upward trend and are likely to register an increase of 13% compared to previous year.
While the software exports were about Rs 57,000 crore or roughly $10 billion in the year 2013-14, this year, they are likely to touch Rs 64,000 crore. Further, he said that the IT Sector is also likely to witness an addition of 20,000 employees which would take the total IT workforce in Hyderabad to 3.4 lakh.
Harpreet Singh informed that the State Government was taking all measures to promote Information Technology in Telangana. He hoped that the establishment of T-Hub, the country's biggest technology incubation centre, would encourage youth to start their own IT companies. Further, the revision of syllabus aimed at increase the employability of engineering graduates more employable would help the industry.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad Software Exporters Association Presient Ramesh Loganathan informed that the 23rd edition of Annual Summit and Awards of HYSEA will be held in the city on 11th and 12th March. The two-day event would witness the participation of about 1,000 thought leaders, successful entrepreneurs, designers, creators, key government officials, finance and technology experts.
