US Consulate General officials visit Sri City Sri City, March 6 (INN): A team of officials from the US Consulate General in Chennai, which included John Fleming, Principal Commercial Officer for South India, Kalpana Murthy, Political & Economic Officer, George Mathew, Economic Specialist, and a few others visited Sri City on Friday.
On their arrival, the officials were given a warm reception by Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City.
The purpose of their visit was to see the new industrial city in person and have the first hand knowledge of the progress achieved. During the briefing session they all evinced keen interest in knowing more about the infrastructure and other facilities.
Commenting on the visit, Ravindra Sannareddy said, 'More than nine US companies, including the major brands like PepsiCo, Cadburys, Colgate and Kellogg's have preferred Sri City for setting up their units. As its growth trajectory presents a significant opportunity for investment, India appears high on the agenda of American companies looking for investment opportunities in diverse sectors. I am convinced that some more American companies will step into Sri City soon."
Thanking the Sri City management for arranging the visit, John Fleming said that he was impressed with the world-class industrial infrastructure available at Sri City. He also said that he has no hesitation in recommending Sri City to the investing companies from the US.
