RPF personnel apprehend three thieves The Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel apprehended three persons at Secunderabad Railway station premises for stealing luggage of a passenger on false pretext of getting him a confirmed ticket.
The RPF Crime Prevention and Detection squad, while on confidential watch in the circulating area of the main entrance of Secunderabad Railway Station on 22nd April, noticed three persons moving around suspiciously with a bag. They were detained and on being questioned, it was found that the three persons, Karan Mahato, Kanhaiya Kumar Mishra and a juvenile, Amith Kumar hailing from Bihar had committed theft of a bag from a passenger bound to Patna.
During enquiry, the victim passenger identified his bag and stated that he had come to Secunderabad railway station and purchased a general ticket to Patna. In the meanwhile, he was approached by one person claiming that his brother is a Travelling Ticket Examiner and he can help him in getting a confirmed ticket. The said person took him outside the Railway station and introduced him to two other persons. While they kept him under conversation, one of the three accused committed theft of his bag containing Rs. 4,000/- and his personal items without his notice.
Immediately the three accused persons were handed over to Gopalapuram Police station for further investigations. During investigation, it is learnt that the accused have confessed to their involvement in similar incident reported earlier at Gopalapuram Police station.
