Hyderabad Police aim to upgrade skills of personnel The Hyderabad City Police has initiated measures to upgrade the standard of investigation and capacities of Police Personnel by exploring with new formats of special training program.
The training is aimed at developing necessary skills and competence to monitor, analyse and investigate crime which includes crime scene management, evidence processing, evidence collection, gathering evidence and file presentation which would expose them to the facets of investigation of organized crime network with sharp and effective skills. This training program is to update the knowledge base and investigation skills of the police personnel to handle the Modern day criminals.
In addition to investigation skills training, it was felt essential to include physical activity and yoga classes which would help them to be healthier, be in shape, look good, feel better, enjoy leisure activities, safely perform work and home chores and be away from anxiety, stress and depression.
Further, in view of unpleasant incidents occurred at Suryapet and Janakipuram, where at four officers of Telangana Police were killed by extremists, it was felt necessary to incorporate weapon training with firing practice to the trainees making them much more competent, to face any such challenge.
This training is being imparted every week as a continuous process to 85 civil Police officers (Men & Women) from Constabulary to Inspector rank i.e. 1 HC/PC from each of 63 Law & Order Police Stations, 1 SI from each of 17 Divisions and 1 Inspector from each of 5 Zones of Hyderabad City Police. Proficient national level speakers have been engaged to deliver lectures on specialized topics. On the final day of training, firing practice with SLR Rifle for Head Constable/Constable officers and with 9mm Pistol for SI and above rank officers is being conducted.
