AP CS holds video-conference with District Collectors


 
Hyderabad, May 6 (INN): Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao held a Video Conference on Wednesday with all the District Collectors and other Officials to review on the issues Drinking Water, E-POS System Civil Supplies, Neeru-Chettu, EAMCET-2015 and other programmes.

For supplying of drinking water in rural and urban areas a toll free number was installed by the Department in the Districts to reach the water to the destination. Officers concerned have informed that all measures have been taken for supplying the water. District Collectors informed the drinking water position is comfortable.

The Chief Secretary has directed the Irrigation Department to release water in the Darsi Branch Canal for drinking water in Prakasam District. Any repair works may be taken on the canals or reservoirs, after releasing of water to the tanks only, in the district.

Krishna Rao has reviewed on the Electronic Point of Sale (e-POS) System being implemented by the government at Fair Price Shops in the State. The Government has introduced the system in the State to ensure transparency and prevent diversion of subsidised essential goods. In full spirit the Departments concerned should implement the e-POS system, Krishna Rao said. If the cardholders failed to buy their quota such as Rice and Kerosene, the items will be diverted automatically from the Fair Price Shops, by this system and cardholders may take their ration from anywhere in the State. After taking the thumb impressions of the cardholders then only the e-POS system will allow the sale and it is also enables the officials to keep a tab on the exact stock position at the fair price shops.

A mass awareness campaign may be made in educating the people in all the districts on E-POS system, Chief Secretary opined. The Collectors confirmed that the system is working well and there are no complaints in its working this month.

Alternate arrangements should be made by the Transport Department to avoid inconvenience in public transport in the State, Chief Secretary said and directed the Collectors and Superintendent of Police to deal firmly with any instances of violence or disruption.

While reviewing on the RTC strike Sri I.Y.R. Krishna Rao has reviewed on the issue and discussed with the Transport and Police Officials on alternate arrangements.

At present there are 10000 APSRTC vehicles and 2000 hired vehicles with RTC. Officers concerned have informed that 2000 buses are on operation. The Department has already been decided to hire the licensed Drivers and Conductors to run more number of buses in the Districts. Rs.1000/- will be paid per day, participation certificates will be issued to the hired Drivers and Conductors and they will also be considered with 30% of reservation in the future recruitment by the APSRTC, said.

The Chief Secretary has suggested that the vehicles from Educational Institutions and other private organizations available may be engaged with licensed Drivers and the Officers may be prepared a route map by covering all the EAMCET Centres in the district, to reach easily by the students with the help of Police Department. Bandobust arrangements near all the centres will also be provided. District Officials may be initiate the work on war basis to solve the issue in the public transport system.

Prestigious entrance examination EAMCET-2015 is being conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) for the first time after re-organization of the Andhra Pradesh. Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test is the pre-requisite for admission in to various professional courses offered by the Universities and other private Colleges in the State. The exam will be held on 8th May 2015.

The Chief Secretary has issued instructions to the Departments concerned for making all the arrangements for smooth conducting of the EAMCET-2015. Regional Co-ordinators are appointed to supervise the exam at 25 Regional Centres and JNTU Hyderabad will monitor three Regional Centres. Precautionary measures viz., to prevent malpractice, arranging of jammers, appointing of Special Vigilance Teams are to be taken and thumb impressions of the candidates may also be obtained.

Neeru-Chettu, Pension distributions, Stray Dog Menace, Sand-reaches and other issues are discussed in the meeting. Senior Officers S.P. Tucker, Dr. P.V. Ramesh, B. Sam Bob, B. Ramanjaneyulu, Sumita Dawra, Vidya Sagar, Jawahar Reddy and others attending the meeting.
