TP Foundation Celebrates Success in NJ Somerset, New Jersey: TeluguPeople Foundation celebrated its success with its members, donors, well wishers and prospective supporters in New Jersey on Saturday, May 16th evening, informed Madhavi Bathula, foundation's Press relations in charge.
Foundation is registered as a Non-Profit organisation in United States in 2008, said the founding member Pradeep Suwarna in his welcome address. Foundation is providing scholarships to economically backward students to pursue higher education including Engineering, Advanced Sciences, Medicine, Chartered Accounting and Civil Services in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Another founding member Krishna Kotha explained the entire process right from the candidate selection to providing help and financial support to the deserving candidates until they complete their education and get a job.
Krishna explained that the help Foundation is doing is changing not only the life of one person but many around that person. Krishna also explained how he himself came up in his life from a lower middle class background and how education has changed his life.
TeluguPeople Foundation encourages the beneficiaries from the beginning that they should help another candidate once they complete their education and get a job. This way, the foundation is creating a sustainable model. The model is proven and time tested in the last 10 years, Krishna said.
TeluguPeople Foundation does not publish the beneficiaries details publicly on the website or on the social networks to protect their privacy. All the details are with the Foundation and some success stories and the video messages from some of the beneficiaries were presented during the program on Saturday.
For example, one beneficiary was driving auto to continue his studies. In a heart melting video message the beneficiary explained how much he struggled to continue his education. After rejections from so many, he got support from TeluguPeople Foundation. He completed his MBA with the help of the foundation and he is currently working as an accounts officer in a well known construction company and making a decent income.
One girl student completed MCA with financial support of Rs 32,000 from TeluguPeople Foundation. She is recruited by Cognizant Technology for an annual compensation of Rs 300,000 (10 times the loan TPF provided). Her total annual family income before was Rs 48,000. This demonstrates the impact help in the education sector can create in practice and the Return on Investment for the Society is tremendous, Krishna explained.
One beneficiary got selected for MS (Ortho) in Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad.
The memorable program was started by an amazing performance by Dr. Neela Zareen, an American Born Bangladesi descent Kuchipudi artist in Vedantam tradition. She performed Dasavataaram. Well known movie star and Broadway artist Pragathi Yadhati added glitter to the program. The TPF Board has announced both Dr. Neela and Pragathi as Brand Ambassadors for the TeluguPeople Foundation.
Fourteen thousand dollars were raised for the foundation during this program.
