TDP confident of winning MLC polls Hyderabad, May 21 (INN): TDP floor leader in Telangana Assembly Errabelli Dayakar Rao has expressed confidence that party's candidate V Narender Reddy would achieve a comfortable victory in the MLC elections to be held on June 1.
Speaking to media persons after Narendra Reddy filed his nomination in Assembly premises here on Thursday, Errabelli claimed that the TDP was having four additional votes for the MLC elections. He said 16 preferential votes were required to win the seat while the TDP candidate will get at least 20 votes.
Errabelli accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of resorting to 'cheap politics'. He said elections for six MLC seats could have been unanimous. However, by fielding the fifth candidate, the TRS opened the doors for defections and horse trading. He said that people have been watching KCR's tactics to grab power and they would teach him a fitting lesson in next elections.
He thanked BJP for its support and said that the TDP has reciprocated the same in Andhra Pradesh by supporting BJP candidates in MLC elections.
Earlier, former MLA Narendra Reddy submitted his nomination papers in the presence of TDP MLAs Mothkupalli Narasimhulu, A Revanth Reddy, Prakash Goud, M Gopinath and Gandhi, BJP MLAs Dr K Laxman, Chintala Ramchander Reddy and NVSS Prabhakar among others.
