Technical glitches responsible for delay in special status: Raju New Delhi, May 24 (INN): Union Minister for Civil Aviation P Ashok Gajapati Raju has held technical glitches responsible for the delay in grant of Special Status for Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to media persons, Raju said it was due to the recommendation of 14th Finance Commission that the Centre was unable to grant Special Status for AP. However, he said that the Centre has been trying to to overcome the situation.
The Union Minister strongly defended the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre and dismissed the allegations of opposition parties of non-performance. He said it was wrong to accuse a government of non-performance even before it completed one year in power. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi tries to take entire opposition into confidence before taking major decisions. He praised the social security initiatives taken by Modi Government during the last one year. He condemned the criticism by opposition parties, which he alleged, has been trying to project the government as anti-farmer.
Raju also announced that an international airport would be established in Andhra Pradesh soon.
