'Cash for Vote': 14-day remand for Sandra Hyderabad, July 7 (INN): The Special Court for ACB Cases on Tuesday sent TDP MLA Sandra Venakta Veeraiah to 14-day judicial remand in the 'Cash for Vote' case.
The MLA, who was arrested by the Telangana ACB on Monday as the fifth accused in the case, was produced before the court on Tuesday amid tight security. The ACB contended that it had concrete evidence to prove MLA's involvement in the case. In its memo, the ACB stated that Sandra spoke to other accused in the case several times. The ACB also told the court that Sandra tried to evade questioning last month by getting himself admitted in a hospital in Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh State.
The MLA's lawyer opposed the petition on the ground that ACB did not take the permission of AP Assembly's Speaker before arresting him.
After hearing both the sides, the court granted 14-day judicial remand to Veeraiah.
